Prof. Dr. Yavuz Başterzi

Prof. Dr. Yavuz Başterzi was born in Izmir in 1974.

He started his medical education at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1991 and completed it as the top student in 1997. Dr. Başterzi, Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery between 1998-2003. After completing his specialty training in Istanbul, he started working as an assistant professor at Mersin University Faculty of Medicine in 2004. In 2007, in order to increase his experience and knowledge in the field of craniomaxillofacial surgery, which he is particularly interested in, he studied at “Baylor College of Medicine”, one of the best centers in this field in the USA, as Dr. He worked with Larry Hollier for two months. He received the title of Associate Professor of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgery in April 2010, and the title of Professor in 2015. In 2012, his application for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialization, which was newly established by the Ministry of Health, was accepted by the Board of Medical Specialization, and he was entitled to receive the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialization as his second specialization. He currently continues his academic studies as a faculty member at Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
